Use a stunning image or exciting video to promote your business. You can display an image on mobile and a video on desktop, and vice versa, within the same section.
If you want to show an interactive video instead, then use the Video section.
Add a Media banner section
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Next to Emporium, click Customize.
- Click Add section, then click Media banner.
Display an image
In the following example, the settings that affect the display on mobile are used, but the same steps apply to the settings that affect the display on desktop.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Next to Emporium, click Customize.
- Click the Media banner section.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Type, select the Image option.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Image, click Select image.
- Select the image to display, or upload a new image, and click Select.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Aspect ratio, select an option.
Display a video
In the following example, the settings that affect the display on mobile are used, but the same steps apply to the settings that affect the display on desktop.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Next to Emporium, click Customize.
- Click the Media banner section.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Type, select the Video option.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Video, click Select video.
- Select the video to display, or upload a new video, and click Done.
- Under the MEDIA (MOBILE) heading, under Aspect ratio, select an option.
Videos added to the Media banner section must be uploaded to Shopify from the Files page in your Shopify admin.
Large images and long videos are large files. If a customer has a slow connection (e.g. 3G), then large files can take a long time to load. Learn how to optimise images and videos on your online store.
Add a button
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Next to Emporium, click Customize.
- Under the Media banner section, click Add block, then click Buttons.
- Under the BUTTON 1 heading, in the Label field, input a label for the button.
- Under the BUTTON 1 heading, in the Link field, paste a link or search for an existing page on your online store.
- Under the BUTTON 1 heading, under Type, select an option.
- Optional: If you want to add a second button, then repeat steps 4–6 for BUTTON 2.
